Xinhua: Central Asian Volunteer Forum is held in Kazakhstan for first time

For the first time in Kazakhstan, from 15 to 19 August, the Central Asian Forum of Volunteers is being held. This was announced today by the Central Communications Service of Kazakhstan.

The event is also attended by experts from Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. As the chairman of the committee on civil society affairs of the Ministry of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Madiyar Kozhakhmet, noted, from August 15 to 17, a complex of various events is being held in the city of Turkestan and Borovoe.

During the forum, volunteers took part in environmental campaigns and visited an orphanage.

On August 18-19, more than 200 delegates will gather in Nur-Sultan, where panel sessions and discussion platforms will be held.

At the final event, a report “On the state of volunteering in the world” will be presented.

Today, Kazakhstani volunteers are actively working in various UN structures. Of these, 7 volunteers carry out their mission abroad with the support of Kazakhstan.
