Kyrgyzstan and Russia agree on new business projects

An agreement has been concluded between Russia and Kyrgyzstan on the implementation of a significant construction project, the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund (RKDF) announced.

“We are talking about the largest project for the construction of an aerated concrete plant and two social projects in the Batken region. A future $50 million contract for the construction of a five-star hotel in Issyk-Kul will also be worked out. We hope that next year we will be able to start its practical implementation. Agreements were also signed on the construction of solar stations, the supply of high-quality Russian equipment for the railway, passenger buses for the mayor’s office of the city of Osh,” Artem Novikov, Chairman of the Board of the RKDF said.

He noted that the interaction between the businesses of the two countries has intensified since 2021. During this time, a business forum was held in Issyk-Kul and two business missions of Russian companies to Kyrgyzstan took place.

“During the past events, representatives of Russian business assessed our market, looked closely. Today… ideas and intentions, discussed and predicted in previous periods, have received a practical result,”  Novikov said.

He added that the investment forum recently held in Osh gave an opportunity for the businesses of the two countries to consider all aspects of cooperation, establish relationships, which gives every reason to count on the signing of new investment agreements and joint business projects.

As a result of the Kyrgyz-Russian investment forum, which took place on October 7-8 in Osh, about 20 documents were signed on the implementation of investment projects worth $500 million, Novikov said.
