Kazinform: Kashagan field resumes oil production

At the Kashagan oil field, located on the territory of the Atyrau region in the Caspian Sea, oil production is gradually resumed, Kazinform correspondent reports.

“NCOC, the operator of the North Caspian project (for the development of the Kashagan offshore field), reports a gradual resumption of production on the night of August 9-10. It is expected that these activities will be accompanied by limited offshore and onshore gas flaring in accordance with the relevant permits. Gas flaring is a standard process during the resumption of such complex production operations, which include the development of the Kashagan field, and will be carried out intermittently for a limited amount of time,” the NCOC press service said.

Earlier it was reported that the preparation of oil at the Bolashak complex was stopped due to a gas leak.
