Kazakhstan leads in food supplies to Uzbekistan

Kazakhstan is the leader in food supplies to Uzbekistan. According to the results of nine months of 2022, Kazakhstan supplied grain and other food products to Uzbekistan more than other exporting countries, Kazinform reports.

According to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan, in January-September 2022, Kazakhstan retained its first place in the list of the main countries supplying food products to Uzbekistan. The share of Kazakhstani products in the total volume of food imports of Uzbekistan in the specified period amounted to 36.2%.

The main demand falls on Kazakh wheat – 1.8 million tons, flour – 280 thousand tons, barley – 73 thousand tons, vegetable oil – 65 thousand tons and potatoes – 49.6 thousand tons.

The top five importers also included Russia – 24% (of total imports), Brazil – 14.7%, Belarus – 4.3%, Pakistan – 2.2%.

Earlier it was reported that more than 95% of flour imports in Uzbekistan come from Kazakh products.

Kazakhstan is one of the major suppliers of grain products to the countries of Central Asia.
