Turkmenistan’s GDP grew in 2022 noticably

Turkmenistan’s GDP growth for the nine months of 2022 amounted to more than 6%, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov said at an expanded meeting of the government of Turkmenistan. The government discussed the results of the socio-economic development of Turkmenistan for the three quarters of 2022, Orient reported.

Berdimuhamedov noted that despite the difficulties in the global economy, the results of nine months of the year testify to the successful development of the country. He stressed that the growth of Turkmenistan’s GDP amounted to 6.2%, foreign trade turnover increased by 40%, and more than 20 billion manats of capital investments were disbursed from all sources of financing.

At the meeting, it was noted that the plan for oil production was fulfilled by 100.7%, oil refining – by 110.9%, gasoline production – by 115.7%, diesel fuel – by 111.6%, polypropylene – by 122.3%, lubricating oils – by 101.1 and liquefied gas – by 113.9%. It was also emphasized that the plan for the production of natural and associated gas was fulfilled by 115.3%, and the export of “blue fuel” – by 125.9%.

One US dollar costs 3.5 Turkmen manats. Turkmenistan is among the top five countries in the world in terms of explored gas reserves. The population of the country is 6 million people.
