Avesta: The volume of exports of precious metals in Tajikistan decreased by 41.2%

The volume of exports of precious metals in Tajikistan for the first half of this year compared to the same period in 2021 decreased by 41.2%.

According to statistics, in the second quarter of this year, the proceeds from the sale of precious metals amounted to more than $40.6 million, or 58.8% of the same period last year.

In January-June last year, the sale of precious metals amounted to more than $69 million.

According to the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies, there are 18 gold mining companies in the country, and the production of this metal is growing every year. However, the department does not share data on the actual volumes of gold production, referring to the secrecy of information about the extraction of the precious metal.

According to statistics, last year the sale of precious metals accounted for 41.7% of the country’s total exports. Precious metals were sold for over $896.6 million, up 30% from 2020.
