Avesta: Tajikistan may become one of the transit countries in Central Asia

Tajikistan will become one of the transit countries of the Central Asian region in the future. The Minister of Transport of the Republic of Tatarstan Azim Ibrokhim spoke about this at a meeting with journalists at the end of last week in Dushanbe.

According to him, 11 investment projects worth 10.4 billion somoni (about $828.2 million) are currently being implemented in the transport sector,

5 out of 11 projects worth 4.9 billion somoni have been fully implemented and are in a state of guarantee. 6 projects worth 5.5 billion somoni are at the implementation stage.

Construction work is in full swing on the section of the Dangara – Okmazor highway (28.6 km), “Dushanbe – Kulma”, on the section “Kalai-Khumb – Vanch – the administrative border of the Rushan region” with a length of 93 km with two tunnels, with the participation Tajikistan and the Chinese company China Road, launched on June 23 this year.

After the completion of the work, these sections will comply with international standards, the Ministry of Transport said.
