Meanwhile, on the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, a draft decree of the head of this country appeared entitled “On the signing of the Treaty between the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan on friendship, good neighborliness and cooperation for the development of Central Asia in the 21st century.”

The explanatory note to the document notes that “in the context of geopolitical turbulence, tension in the international arena, increased risks of global security, the deepening of interaction with the states of Central Asia is becoming increasingly important for Kazakhstan.”

“In order to develop regional cooperation, measures are being taken to build trusting relationships, ensure the sustainable development of the region, strengthen stability and security in it, as well as promote issues affecting the interests of the states of the region on various international platforms. Based on the results of the past three consultative meetings of the heads of state, the processes of regional rapprochement have acquired a sustainable character. A constructive multilateral political dialogue has been established in the region,” the document says.

The main clause of this agreement is that “the parties reaffirm their obligation to refrain from the use of force or the threat of force directed against each other, interact to strengthen peace and security on a global and regional scale, and coordinate their efforts to counter modern challenges and threats.”

It is emphasized that “the agreement will serve as a solid basis for further deepening mutually beneficial cooperation between the states of Central Asia, building an optimal model of relations with the world community and developing common approaches to modern challenges and threats, and will also contribute to the development of interstate cooperation in the region.”
