Avesta: $173 mln of investments were attracted to the Tajik economy

About $173 million of investments were attracted to the Tajik economy in the first half of this year. This was reported to journalists by the chairman of the State Committee for Investments and State Property Management of the country, Saidi Kodirzoda.

According to him, this figure is $57.6 million more than a year earlier.

The volume of direct investments amounted to $100.6 million, and increased by 2.1 times compared to January-June last year.

Currently, 80 state investment projects totaling 42 billion somoni are being implemented in the republic. To date, 2.2 billion somoni of the indicated amount has been disbursed.

These projects cover such areas as education, agriculture, healthcare, energy and a number of other areas.

He also said that in order to industrialize the country since the beginning of this year, 2 new investment agreements have been signed for a total of $80 million.

These investments will be directed to the construction of two enterprises, which, in total, will create more than 1.1 thousand jobs.
