$1,3 bln returned to Kazakhstan – Prosecutor General’s Office

630 billion tenge, which is equivalent to 1.3 billion US dollars, has been returned in Kazakhstan to state ownership, the country’s Prosecutor General’s Office announced, according to the Zakon.kz portal.

In addition, the Prosecutor General of Kazakhstan, Berik Asylov, wrote on his Twitter page that according to the acts of prosecutors in the customs sphere, the state budget was replenished by 57 billion tenge, and 140,000 hectares of land were returned to state ownership for 5 billion tenge.

“At present, lawsuits have been filed in the courts of Kazakhstan for the return of state property in the amount of 13.5 billion tenge. The Supreme Court of Kazakhstan satisfied 16 protests. They are expected to receive another 23 billion tenge to the treasury. Work continues,” Asylov wrote.

On September 19, the Prosecutor General’s Office reported that Kazakhstan had been compensated for damages and returned assets totaling over 523 billion tenge.

At the same time, on October 20, the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan announced that 100 billion tenge seized from corrupt officials would be directed to the construction of schools in November.

On November 2, the Anti-Corruption Agency of Kazakhstan reported details on the case of the nephew of the former President of Kazakhstan Nazarbayev, Kairat Satybaldyuly. The ministry emphasized that more than $230 million had been returned to the budget of Kazakhstan.
