The number of cards in Kyrgyzstan at the end of Q2 2022 exceeded 4.3 million. Of these, more than 1.5 million are cards of the Visa payment system, according to a report by the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan.
Over the year, the growth of Visa cards exceeded 487 thousand pieces. Most of these cards are owned by residents of Bishkek – the population of the city owns almost 1.1 million payment cards.
Next come Osh (129.5 thousand cards) and Jalal-Abad (108 thousand cards) regions.
Despite this increase, the first place in the number of cards in Kyrgyzstan is occupied by the national payment system “Elcart” – almost 2.6 million, only 300 thousand cards were issued during the year.
