Kyrgyzstan to hold Year of folk art and cultural heritage of CIS countries

The 27th meeting of the Council for Cultural Cooperation of the CIS member states was held in Nur-Sultan.

17 issues were considered at the meeting. Among them are the implementation of the Main Activities of Cooperation in the Field of Culture for 2021-2025 and the Action Plan for Holding the Year of Folk Art and Cultural Heritage in the CIS in 2022, as well as activities for holding the Year of the Russian Language as the Language of Interethnic Communication in 2023, press service of the CIS Executive Committee reported.

The meeting, which was held at the National Museum of Kazakhstan, was attended by representatives of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

The participants also discussed issues of cooperation in the field of museum work, in the creation and development of the Virtual Museum of Cultural Heritage of the CIS countries, in the field of preservation and promotion of the world heritage.

The next meeting of the Council for Cultural Cooperation is planned to be held in Kyrgyzstan in 2023.
