Tajikistan’s trade balance in 2022 remains negative

Tajikistan has trade relations with 101 countries in the world.

Tajikistan acquires goods from 91 countries. At the same time, 58 countries of the world only supply goods to Tajikistan, without purchasing Tajik goods.

The volume of foreign trade turnover of Tajikistan for 7 months of 2022 amounted to $4.1 billion, which is 16.5% more than last year. The volume of trade turnover growth amounted to $584.9 million, Avesta agency reported.

Thus, the trade balance of Tajikistan for 2022 amounted to minus $1.4 billion.

Imports of goods for the specified period amounted to more than $2.7 billion, which is 25.2%, or $559.2 million more than the corresponding period in 2021.

The export of products also increased by 1.9%, or by $25.7 million, amounting to over $1.3 billion.

Imports of goods from 91 countries prevail over exports of products. With only 10 countries, exports of goods prevail over imports by a small margin.

In countries such as Turkey, Belgium and Switzerland, the export of Tajik goods prevails over imports. This is due to the fact that precious metals, aluminum and cotton fiber are mainly exported there.
