Tajikistan’s foreign trade turnover for the first nine months of this year amounted to $5 billion 410.8 million. This figure is 18.8% or $857.4 million more than a year earlier, Avesta news agency reported.
The trade balance was negative and amounted to $2 billion 133.2 million, according to data of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan.
Export of goods for this period amounted to $1 billion 638.8 million, with an increase of 5.5%, or $85.2 million.
The volume of imports amounted to $3 billion 772 million with an increase of 25.7%, or $772.3 million.
The main trading partners of Tajikistan are Russia – $1.2 billion, Kazakhstan – over $1 billion, and China – $965 million.
According to WB data for 2021, Tajikistan’s GDP was $9.2 billion.
