More than 60% of Tajikistan’s trade turnover falls on SCO countries

Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan Zavki Zavkizoda said that the foreign trade turnover between Tajikistan and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization countries for the first half of 2022 amounted to 68%. Tajikistan’s largest trading partners are the SCO member countries.

Zavkizoda stated this at the 21st meeting of the SCO Ministers of Economy and Trade, Avesta reported.

The meeting was attended by the ministers of economy and trade of the SCO member states, including Tajikistan, China, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia and Uzbekistan.

In order to expand cooperation, a number of proposals were presented at this meeting, including expanding cooperation in the direction of the digital and green economy, electronic commerce, the creation of industrial and agricultural enterprises, increasing the volume of exports, especially the export of environmentally friendly agricultural products of Tajikistan to the SCO member countries, further development of ties in the transport and infrastructure sector, logistics, tourism and other priority areas.

The meeting participants expressed their readiness to expand mutually beneficial cooperation, the report said.
