Ministerial meeting of CA and Gulf countries held in Riyadh

The Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf and representatives of the Central Asian countries held the first strategic dialogue meeting on September 7 in Riyadh, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan reported.

On September 7, the delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, headed by acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Norov visited Riyadh to participate in the first ministerial meeting of the Strategic Dialogue “Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf – Central Asia,” says in the message in the Telegram channel of the Foreign Ministry.

During the visit, the delegation of Uzbekistan  hold a number of bilateral meetings with foreign partners, the press service of Uzbek MFA added.

The Gulf Cooperation Council consists of six countries: Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman and Qatar.

The countries of Central Asia have intensified their bilateral relations with the countries of the Gulf in recent years. The presidents of Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan have already paid visits to Riyadh and other countries of the Gulf, and the president of Kyrgyzstan plans to visit Saudi Arabia this fall.
