Uzbekistan’s authorities has provided official information about the events planned to be held this week with the participation of the President of Uzbekistan and the heads of state of the SCO. The information was announced by the press secretary of the President of Uzbekistan Sherzod Asadov.
He said that more than 30 documents are planned to be presented at the SCO summit, Kun.uz reports.
It is expected that within the framework of the Council of Heads of State of the SCO, a memorandum on Iran’s obligations to grant the status of a member state of the SCO will be signed.
One of the important documents that should be taken into account is a comprehensive plan for the implementation of the agreement on long-term good neighborliness, friendship and the composition of the SCO member states for 2023-2027. This document was developed on the initiative of Shavkat Mirziyoyev and received the support of all SCO member states. In addition, a decision was made to expand the composition of observers and partners in the SCO dialogue.
the main document of the summit is the Samarkand Declaration, which reflects the positions of the participating countries on particularly important and global issues. It defines joint approaches to high sustainability, security and sustainable economic development, the sharpening of social ties, as well as the sharpening of cultural dialogue.
Within the framework of the summit, it is also planned to sign memorandums of understanding between the SCO and the League of Arab States, specialized UN organizations – ESCAP and UNESCO.
The SCO summit will be held on September 15-16, 2022 in Samarkand.
