Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on September 29 within the framework of his visit to Turkiye.
The leaders of the two countries discussed a wide range of issues of Kyrgyz-Turkish cooperation, paying special attention to strengthening ties in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, Kabar reported.
Zhaparov noted the high organization of the IV World Nomad Games (WNG) and stressed that they are aimed at developing the ethno-sport and ethno-cultural movement in the world as the property of human civilization.
During the meeting, the sides reaffirmed their commitment to dialogue and cooperation on the world stage in order to further strengthen bilateral strategic cooperation, as well as promote sustainable development, stability and prosperity of the two countries.
Before the opening ceremony of the WNG the presidents of the two countries, as well as heads of other delegations, went to the stadium where the opening ceremony of the Games was held.
The solemn event was accompanied by a theatrical show dedicated to the Turkic world and the culture of nomads. As part of the ceremony, creative and dance groups from the countries of the Turkic world performed, including about 30 cultural figures from Kyrgyzstan, including the Kambarkan folklore and ethnographic ensemble, soloists and a director’s team.
In addition, a parade of countries participating in the Games was held as part of the opening ceremony.
The Fourth World Nomad Games will be held from September 29 to October 2 under the slogan “Keeping unity and traditions, we look to the future!”.
More than 3,000 athletes from 102 countries will take part in the Games. Kyrgyzstan will be represented by 148 athletes.
