Kun.uz: Uzbek Vladimir Norov names important tasks before the interim government of Afghanistan

The international conference on Afghanistan on the topic “Afghanistan: security and economic development” has started in the international business center of Tashkent City. 

Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Vladimir Norov, in his report, listed the important tasks the Afghan government is facing.

“The main demands of the international community, including the establishment of an inclusive government based on broad representation, the ensuring of women’s rights and the admission of national minorities, as well as the right to full-fledged school education, were highlighted by the interim government. This is a guarantee of a peaceful future for the entire Afghan people,” the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan said.

The event is being attended by the special representatives on Afghanistan from Great Britain, the European Union, Iran, Italy, Spain, Kazakhstan, Qatar, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, China, Norway, Pakistan, Russia, USA, Turkey, Japan and other countries, UN and its charter bodies, Islamic cooperation organization, leaders of the Economic Cooperation Organization, representatives of international financial institutions, as well as the delegation of the interim government of Afghanistan led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Amir Khan Muttaqi.

Reportedly, about 100 foreign delegations will participate in the event. Heads of delegations are scheduled to make speeches at it. Within its framework, a presentation of major projects implemented by Uzbekistan aimed at the development of Afghanistan and its integration into international processes will be organized.
