Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia agree on cooperation in tourism

Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov held a meeting with the Minister for Hajj and Umrah of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Tawfik bin Fawzan al-Rabia, Kazinform reports.

The parties discussed issues of expanding cooperation in the fields of tourism, culture and civil aviation.

The Prime Minister noted that over the past years, friendly and constructive relations have been established between the Republic of Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia.

“Muslims around the world are looking forward to the opportunity to perform Hajj. This year, 4,000 Kazakhstanis also received such a right. This became possible thanks to the attention and efforts of the leadership of Saudi Arabia,” said Alikhan Smailov.

He also thanked the representatives of the Kingdom for their active participation in the 7th Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions held in Astana.

In turn, Tawfiq bin Fawzan al-Rabia noted that the opening of regular flights would give an additional impetus to the strengthening of bilateral relations.

“During the visit, I held a number of fruitful meetings with Kazakhstani colleagues. We hope that the opening of direct regular flights will contribute to an increase in the number of tourists and pilgrims from Kazakhstan,” said Tawfiq bin Fawzan al-Rabia.
