Inflation among EAEU countries has big gap

The Bureau of National Statistics of Kazakhstan published information on the level of annual inflation in the EAEU countries based on the results of August 2022. The highest inflation was in Belarus – 17.9%, in second place – Kazakhstan with 16.1%, in third – Kyrgyzstan (15.6%), reports Zakon.kz..

Following are located: Russia – 14.3% and Armenia – 9.1%.

At the same time, as statisticians note, most of all food and non-alcoholic beverages rose in price in Kazakhstan – by 21%, alcoholic beverages and tobacco products – in Kyrgyzstan – by 18.6%, housing services – in Belarus – by 13.8%.

At the same time, the increase in prices for transport services was also most observed in Belarus – 28.1%, clothing and footwear rose most of all in Kazakhstan – 11.7%.

The EAEU includes Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Armenia. The Union was initiated by Kazakhstan and established in 2013.
