Days of Cinema of the SCO countries will be held in Tashkent within the framework of the XIV Tashkent International Film Festival.
The grand opening of the Days of Cinema of the SCO countries will take place on September 13 in the Uzbek capitalbefore the start of the SCO Summit in Samarkand.
All the SCO member countries intend to show their best films timed to coincide with the Summit.
The Shanghai Cooperation Organization includes India, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.In addition to them, observer countries (Belarus, Iran, Mongolia) and partner countries in the SCO dialogue (Azerbaijan, Armenia, Turkey) will demonstrate their film production.
The delegations of the countries will hold the Days of Cinema of the SCO countries in Tashkent and in the regions of Uzbekistan, as well as in the country’s Karakalpakstan.
In addition, a film forum of the SCO countries will be held at Uzbekfilm, where participants discuss issues of cooperation, plans for joint film production and the exchange of creative ideas. A common distribution network of the participating countries will be created, locations for film tourism and improvement of the rebate system on the territory of the SCO countries will be discussed and compiled.
Film delegations from the SCO countries presented their best premiere works of 2022 to the artistic Сouncil of the film festival.
“In the space of the Shanghai region, the art of cinema provides a unique chance to reflect the rich culture, history, traditions and philosophical heritage of the SCO member states,” Firdavs Abdukhalikov, Director General of the Film Agency said. The portfolio of the Film Agency already includes more than 15 joint films with the SCO countries.
During the Days o Cinema of the SCO countries, except for screening films, master classes, seminars, press conferences and creative meetings will be held.
